Bowling with style

One week for FHE we went bowling...I've got to say it's not my favorite past time. Surprisingly I'm not a good bowler. However being the good sport that I am I headed out anyway. Actually with a little coaching from one of the guys in my group I got the best score I ever have!
I went bowling with my BFF Myriah's family at Christmas time. We each had to pick a bowling name during our game...So I decided to continue the tradition with my FHE group. My bowling name was red hot chili pepper. The other team members included: Hot pants, sweet T, R diddy.
 Good times with Hot pants!
Hot pants, red hot chili pepper, and sweet  T!

Girls night at the Fair!

One Friday night in August, I went to a singles conference....it was a terrifying experience and left me feeling less than excited about single life....so the next night the girls night was in order, so I headed down to the OC to hang out with Hillary and Krystal.
We spent the evening at the OC fair!
Being most familiar with the mid state fair...turns out most fairs are the same.
A girls night calls for some serious diet cheats...include funnel cake with strawberries and chocolate!
Krystal, Me and Hill with the ferries wheel!

Of course a fair trip wouldn't be complete without a cinnamon roll!
I just had to re-live my glory days when I raced lama's at the mid state fair. ;)
And of course a corn dog!
As per usual the fair booths were full of interesting and unique items....this one really knocked it out of the park...really who would want a sign in their house that says ....."Come classy, leave trashy." Over all good times, with lots of laughs.

RS surf day adventure

The first weekend in August was our branch RS surf day! Our amazing branch president and some of his friends from our stake take a Saturday each summer and spend it teaching the women in our branch and the YSA women how to surf. After my great experience last summer I was supper excited for round 2.  Here I am ready to hit the waves.
Unfortunately after about an hour of surfing without the suggested foot wear (Doheny is known for being a very rocky beach and water shoes are recommend, however I went last year and didn't wear them and was fine) I went to rinse off in the shower and noticed my feet were bleeding...upon closer inspection I realized my feet were cut up pretty badly including a chunk out of my big toe that wouldn't stop bleeding.
One of the girls went to the life guard station to retrieve some first aid items....however when she came back she brought the life guard with her to assess  the situation...about 2 mins later 2 more life guards showed up in a truck. Seriously embarrassing.  Luckily the hottest one won the toss to take care of me. :) We chatted he cleaned and bandaged my feet and all the other girls stood around staring mostly. Just as he finished one of the YSA girls came up with as scrape on the side of her foot...the life guard handed her a bandaid to put on and went on his way... I wanted to giggle and say "...sorry hun, I may be older but I've still got it. ;)" instead I just smiled and winked at and thanked the life guard as he walked away. ahhh the adventures of a 30-ish woman, living the single life.

Wedding/graduation weekend

One weekend near the end of July I headed home to celebrate the wedding of my lifelong friend Diana. My sister Brianna worked her make up and hair magic on the bride....
While I helped out the bride by beating a couple levels of candy crush and being my normal entertaining self.
Not to worry sister #3, Callie was quite helpful keeping the brides tiara warm as well. ;)
Hair and make-up when you're a bride takes quite some time...so Cal and I entertained ourselves with some selfies. :)
The wedding was held in a local park. Candice, Brianna, Callie, Hillary and I waiting for the wedding to begin. Oh, don't worry right behind me was some spray painted expletives.....nothing but class for you, lol.
Diana's niece played the violin as she walked down the path.
After the wedding came the reception. Cameron, Callie and I enjoying the candy bar. :)
Callie, me and Brianna. LOVE my sisters.
One thing I love about going home is that so many of the people I grew up with are still there raising their families. Its great to see them. Here I am with my friend Racheal, she and her husband Joseph were the rocking DJ's at the reception.
Another reason to go home for the weekend was that my little sister Callie graduated from BYU-Idaho! My parents now have had all 4 of their children graduate with a Bachelor's degrees: Matthew (Cinematography), Me (Health science), Brianna (Elementary Education), and Callie (Ecology)! Each of us choose a profession fitting for our individual strengths and have worked hard to be successful. Win for the Larry and Kathy Griffith family!
Callie need a new photo for Mom's piano....photo shoot time. :)
Me too!
Sister's photo shoot! Love it! Such a fun weekend with family and friends.
