Saturday AM hike round 2!

The end of the July brought with it another early Saturday morning hike! Another beautiful day.

This time it was a much longer hike. 13 miles total!

And quite a large elevation gain. The trail was simply beautiful!

It was an amazing day and a lovely way to discover more of LA.

July randomness

July was all about the food apparently. It started with 7-11 with free slurpees of course! #iheartslurpees

Then tacos at this great taco joint in downtown...it's a total hole in the wall that only takes cash but they make the best tacos, so tasty! #lovehometownjoints

I also got my first flat tire on my car....that was an experience including AAA, driving 25 miles on a donut, and waiting 2 hours in a tire shop...#somedaysarelikethateveninAustralia

I tried out a place in Pasadena known as Slaters 50/50....this place is all about the bacon! This hamburger was made of 50% bacon, 50% beef. The catchup is bacon flavored. #Deliciousyetnauseating.

For Amber's last meal in LA we went to this amazing Mexican resturant where I ordered Mole (mo-lay)! Probably the best Mole (mo-lay) I've had since New York! Delicious! #rememberingNYNYSouth

Rocking bachlorette party/bridal shower!

My good friend Amber is getting married! My friend Kimberlee and I threw her a rocking bachelorette/bridal shower. Kimberlee did an amazing job on the decor. This is an arrangement she made with little cards clipped on it that the guests could fill out with a favorite memory of the bride.

I was in charge of the food. I made cupcakes. We had fruit, veggies, pita chips and hummus. It all came together very prettily.

Saturday hike

One weekend in July I was up and unearthly hour one Saturday to go hiking with friends. It was an amazingly beautiful morning.

We hiked to a beautiful waterfall....hard to believe this place is just a few miles from the city.

It was a super popular place to be....there was at least a hundred people on the trail with us.

On the weekend following the 4th of July I went to San Diego to spend the weekend with my sister and brother-in-law and friends. I got off early on Friday and headed down to make it to my sisters house and head to the USA vs. Guatemala soccer game!

The next day we spent at the beach! Cameron and Blake were so excited to hang out together, they were like little boys. cute.

After swimming and grabbing some lunch we checked out the surfers on this artificial wave at a near by resort. It was pretty hardcore.

Don't worry we also spent time checking out these old people with a sound system roller skating. It was quite entertaining to see how in to it they were.

On Sunday we went to church were I was sure to make sure I was very festive, before heading back to reality! Such a great weekend. Thanks to Brianna and Cameron for being such amazing hosts!

One night in early July my friends Kimberlee, Amber and I got dressed up and went to a club downtown for an evening of fun and entertainment. I was a super cool place.
